Christian Egeonu (Chris) is a Non-Executive Director (NED) in LeishTon Consulting & BoardGov Limited. He is a seasoned professional with over 13 years cognate experience in Banking and Finance. Chris’s exciting career started with a solid training at Access Bank’s School of Banking Excellence. Thereafter, he was accepted into the Executive Trainee Programme as an account manager in the bank’s commercial and consumer banking group. He demonstrated rare leadership abilities leading to his becoming a unit head as a very young officer, a position he held until joining Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC, a member of the Standard Bank Group. Chris was a Relationship Manager in the bank’s commercial banking suite before his appointment as a branch manager. Under his stewardship, he has implemented transformative and strategic initiatives that turned around the fortunes of the branch, and by extension, the Lagos Island zone to a profitable business. As branch manager, he is accountable for the profitability of the branch, growth of key business drivers, customer service, business development, efficient operations’ processes, compliance and audit controls, brand management, personal growth and development of branch staff.

Chris has acquired considerable experience in personal and business banking, branch management, credit risk management, strategy, Audit, customer experience, marketing, sales, people management, compliance, project management, research and Leadership.

Chris holds a Masters of Business Administration in Management (MBA) from the prestigious Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Accountancy from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN). He is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) having qualified as an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is also an associate member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (ACSI), United Kingdom.

In the course of his career, Chris has attended various courses and training programmes organised by world-class organisations with topics ranging from leadership, credit risk, AML, Financial Statement Analysis, customer experience, among others. Chris sits on the board of Best Impact Global Solution, a trading company. He is happily married with three children.
